The tour gives an insight to visitors about the everyday life, social events, trade and struggles of a variety of different cultural and religious groups that live in this crowded lively neighborhood.<\/em><\/p><p><em>Highlight: After the 1994 unspeakable awfulness, several burial places in the country were established as memorial sites. They include Murambi Genocide Memorial Centre located 2km north of Nyamagabe District and the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Centre (Kigali Genocide Memorial) where 250,000 genocide victims were buried. Here, your amazing adventure begins.<\/p><p><em>Volcanoes National Park protects the steep slopes of this magnificent mountain range and is the home of the rare mountain gorilla and the rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp and heath,<\/em><em> but the high point will be spending an hour with the remarkably peaceful gorillas despite their size and appearance <\/em><em>as they go about their daily life, feeding, playing, resting and raising their young.<\/em> After this memorable experience, return to the lodge for lunch. You will then be transferred by vehicle to the start point of the guided walk that begins at <strong>08h00 <\/strong>in search of the <strong><em>Golden Monkeys<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p><p><em>Trekking to see the golden monkeys is another highlight of Volcanoes National Park. The Golden Monkey (Cercopithecus Mitis Kandti) is a local subspecies of the widespread Sykes Monkey, also known as the \u201cBlue Monkey\u201d and is endemic to the high altitude forests. There are two habituated groups of Golden Monkey, one group comprises around 80 \u2013 100 members and has its home at the foot of Mt Sabyinyo. As with treks to see the Mountain Gorillas, treks to see the Golden Monkeys take place in the mornings and visitors are permitted to stay for 1 hour with the monkeys. The number of visitors is not limited. <\/em><\/p><p>After this memorable experience, you will proceed to <strong><em>Mountain Gorilla View Lodge<\/em><\/strong> for lunch.<\/p><p>This afternoon at <strong>15h30 <\/strong>\u2013 You will visit the Ibyi Iwacu village for a cultural experience.<\/p><p><em>Ibyi Iwacu is changing the traditional perception of what constitutes tourism by turning fate into fame through sharing various aspects of rural cultures and livelihoods into tourist attractions and creating income-generating activities for rural poor people that have reformed from living on bush meat and poaching for generations. <\/em><\/p><p>Return to the lodge in the evening. Tall old mahoganies, ebonies and giant tree ferns tower above you, whilst orchids and other epiphytes cling to every branch.
