Arrival of your flight at Kigali International Airport. Meet and greet assistance. Day 2: NYAMIRAMBO SECTOR\/ CITY TOUR OF KIGALI<\/strong><\/h2><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

09h30:<\/strong> After breakfast at the hotel, you will be briefed on your tour then proceed to Nyamirambo sector in Nyarugenge<\/strong> for a half day guided walking tour.<\/p>

This is the biggest and most vibrant township in Rwanda, which is the oldest area in Kigali. The tour has a wealth of historic and cultural experiences to offer the enthusiastic visitor. Get a firsthand experience of urban life in Kigali, while contributing to local women\u2019s development. The tour gives an insight to visitors about the everyday life, social events, trade and struggles of a variety of different cultural and religious groups that live in this crowded lively neighborhood.<\/em><\/p>

Highlight: After the 1994 unspeakable awfulness, several burial places in the country were established as memorial sites. They include Murambi Genocide Memorial Centre located 2km north of Nyamagabe District and the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Centre (Kigali Genocide Memorial) where 250,000 genocide victims were buried. Learn about Rwanda\u2019s history from pre-colonial times to the 1994 genocide; learn about other genocides in the world and how this country has dealt with that past.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

Lunch will be at the Sole Luna restaurant.<\/em><\/strong> 14h30:<\/strong>\u00a0 Visit Kigali Genocide memorial, <\/em>followed by Inema Arts Centre.\u00a0 <\/em><\/p>

Return to the hotel in the evening. Dinner and overnight.<\/p>

Day 3:\u00a0\u00a0 KIGALI \u2013 AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK ( 02h30 drive)\u00a0\u00a0 GAME DRIVE<\/strong><\/h2><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

07h30:<\/strong>\u00a0 After breakfast at the hotel, you will check out and proceed to Akagera national park<\/strong>.\u00a0 Upon arrival at the park headquarters, you will have a briefing and will be introduced to your park guide.\u00a0\u00a0 You will then embark on a game viewing drive in the park until 13h30.<\/strong> Transfer to the lodge for check in and lunch.<\/p>

The game drive in Akagera National Park provides you with the opportunity to view gentle hills blending beautifully with lowland swamps and water bodies. You will visit the Giraffe area in the south and the lakes road up towards Birengero. Akagera National park is a home for animals like elephant buffalo, Giraffe, zebra and more than a dozen types of antelope inhabit the park, most commonly the handsome chestnut-coated impala, but also the diminutive oribi and secretive bushbuck, as well as the ungainly tsessebe and the world\u2019s largest antelope, the statuesque Cape eland. <\/em><\/p>

15h30:<\/strong> Depart for afternoon game drive in the park. Return to the lodge before sunset.<\/p>

Day 4:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong>AKAGERA\u00a0 (AM BOAT RIDE \/ AFTERNOON GAME DRIVE)<\/strong><\/h2><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

Today after your breakfast, you will go for a boat excursion on Lake Ihema<\/em><\/strong>, which will take you to the island that is inhabitant to several species of birds. Lining the lakes are some of the continent\u2019s densest concentrations of water birds, while the connecting marshes are the haunt of the endangered and exquisite papyrus gonolek, and the bizarre shoebill stork \u2013 the latter perhaps the most eagerly sought of all African birds.<\/p>

After your boat excursion, you will return to the lodge for your lunch.<\/p>

In the afternoon, you will have another game drive in the park. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.<\/p>

Early Breakfast at the lodge. Check out and drive to KIGALI<\/strong>. Arrive and have lunch stop at Khana Kazana Restaurant<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 This afternoon, proceed to MUSANZE<\/strong> and VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK.<\/strong> Arrive in the evening and check in at the lodge.<\/p>

Day 6:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 VOLCANOES NATIONAL PARK (Gorilla trekking)<\/strong><\/h2><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

Early breakfast at the lodge then proceed to the park headquarters in time for Gorilla Trek briefing at 07h00.<\/strong><\/p>

We will then transfer you to the start point of your guided walk that begins at 08h00<\/strong>. Here, your amazing adventure begins.<\/p>

Volcanoes National Park protects the steep slopes of this magnificent mountain range and is the home of the rare mountain gorilla and the rich mosaic of montane ecosystems, which embrace evergreen and bamboo forest, open grassland, swamp and heath,<\/em> but the high point will be spending an hour with the remarkably peaceful gorillas despite their size and appearance <\/em>as they go about their daily life, feeding, playing, resting and raising their young.<\/em> After this memorable experience, return to the lodge for lunch. The afternoon is at leisure to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Dinner and overnight stay.<\/p>

Day 7:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 VOLCANOES (GOLDEN MONKEY\u00a0 TREK & CULTURAL EXPERIENCE) <\/strong><\/h2><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

Rise early in the morning and breakfast at the lodge. <\/strong>Proceed to the Park\u2019s headquarters for briefing about your trek. You will then be transferred by vehicle to the start point of the guided walk that begins at 08h00 <\/strong>in search of the Golden Monkeys<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>

Trekking to see the golden monkeys is another highlight of Volcanoes National Park. The Golden Monkey (Cercopithecus Mitis Kandti) is a local subspecies of the widespread Sykes Monkey, also known as the \u201cBlue Monkey\u201d and is endemic to the high altitude forests. There are two habituated groups of Golden Monkey, one group comprises around 80 \u2013 100 members and has its home at the foot of Mt Sabyinyo. As with treks to see the Mountain Gorillas, treks to see the Golden Monkeys take place in the mornings and visitors are permitted to stay for 1 hour with the monkeys. The number of visitors is not limited. <\/em><\/p>

After this memorable experience, you will proceed to Mountain Gorilla View Lodge<\/em><\/strong> for lunch.<\/p>

This afternoon at 15h30 <\/strong>\u2013 You will visit the Ibyi Iwacu village for a cultural experience.<\/p>

Ibyi Iwacu is changing the traditional perception of what constitutes tourism by turning fate into fame through sharing various aspects of rural cultures and livelihoods into tourist attractions and creating income-generating activities for rural poor people that have reformed from living on bush meat and poaching for generations. <\/em><\/p>

Return to the lodge in the evening. Dinner and overnight.<\/p>

Day 8:\u00a0\u00a0 MUSANZE\u00a0 \u2013 GISENYI \/ LAKE KIVU (01h00 drive)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CITY TOUR OF GISENYI\/KAYAKING<\/strong><\/h2><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

08h00:<\/strong>\u00a0 After breakfast at the hotel, check out. Have a leisurely scenic drive to GISENYI<\/strong> and LAKE KIVU<\/strong>. Arrive at around 09h00<\/strong>.\u00a0 Drive around and discover the town of Gisenyi. You will also drive to the border post of Rwanda and DRC. This is very busy and colorful town. We will not cross.\u00a0 Transfer to your hotel overlooking Lake Kivu<\/strong>. Check in, followed by lunch.\u00a0 This afternoon, you will do some kayaking in Lake Kivu.<\/p>

After this wonderful experience, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.<\/p>

Day 9:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 LAKE KIVU\/ NYUNGWE (05h00 drive)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 CANOPY WALK <\/strong><\/h2><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table>

After an early breakfast at your hotel at 07h00<\/strong>, you will check out. Drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park<\/strong>, where the largest montane forest <\/em><\/strong>East and Central Africa is found. <\/em>The heart of Nyungwe Forest is like a scene from a fairy tale. Tall old mahoganies, ebonies and giant tree ferns tower above you, whilst orchids and other epiphytes cling to every branch. Brightly colored birds flit around; butterflies are everywhere, including a variety of primates for which Nyungwe National Park is renowned. <\/em><\/p>

Arrive\u00a0 and check in at the lodge, followed by early lunch.<\/p>

13h45:<\/strong> Transfer to the park headquarters for canopy walk briefing that takes place at 14h00.<\/strong> Your guided canopy walk will start at 15h00.<\/strong><\/p>

The Canopy walkway consists of three bridges and three towers and is a total length of the walkway is 200m. The walkway is embedded in a guided tour along Igishigishigi Trail. Taking this tour, a specialized Park Guide will not only show you the forest canopy\u00a0but also explain why it is an integral part of the tropical rainforest ecosystem. You will learn what the major characteristics of a rainforest and its canopy are and the importance Nyungwe Forest has for Rwanda.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>

Today at 05h00<\/strong> you will get your packed breakfast and\u00a0 drive to the park headquarters for chimpanzee trek briefing and formalities and then to the evergreen forest for a great experience that starts at 06h00<\/strong>. You may spot a wide variety of bird life.<\/p>

Their playfulness and human \u2013 like characteristics make the long day worthwhile. Luckily you may be welcomed by chimp morning calls deep in the forest upon encountering the chimps, you will be allowed to stay in their presence for one hour as you enjoy their acrobats, feeding life and their day today behaviors<\/em>.<\/p>

Return to the lodge at around 12h00<\/strong> for lunch.<\/p>

Return to the lodge after the walk. Evening at leisure. Dinner and overnight stay.<\/p>
